Lizanne Pllu

I have a master's degree in social work (2008) and a BA in applied social studies (2000). I have been employed in the Social Work field since 2003. I have over twenty years' experience working with children, young people and their families.
I am passionate about my profession, and I have a strong social justice framework. I am non-judgmental and I have a warm and engaging style of communication with all families that I work with.
I have extensive experience in undertaking forensic assessments. I have previous experience of providing forensic reports in the areas of Child Protection, and Criminal Justice Services. I have also provided counselling and therapeutic services to children and young people, as well as CBT with adults and young people in the Criminal Justice system.
From January 2018 until March 2022, I was employed as a Family Consultant (Court Child Expert) at the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia, Brisbane Registry. I completed family reports, preliminary assessments, s65L reports and co-facilitated family dispute resolution whilst employed at the Court. I enjoyed the variety of work in these roles. I want to support parents/families to reach a parenting agreement that is suitable for children and parents.
I started my own social work practice in April 2022. Currently, I am available to undertake private family reports and private preliminary assessments (online and in-person on the Gold Coast)
I am an appointed Panel Family Consultant with the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia.
